Larry Singleton Jr. is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Southern University at New Orleans. He went on to earn a Masters of Education (M.Ed) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University (CACREP). Larry became interested in helping others at a young age and has spent most of his working adult life serving and helping people.
Larry has a great deal of experience and knowledge working with the underserved community. He has numerous years of mental health experience working with individuals of cognitive, intellectual, and emotional disorders in various settings. Larry has numerous years of experience working with various programs within The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (formerly MHMRA) in Houston, TX. These programs included the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, Chronic Consumer Stabilization Initiative, Crisis Stabilization Unit, and Forensic Unit (Harris County Jail). He also has worked in the psychiatric hospital setting in Houston, Tx.
Larry is skilled in various assessments, counseling techniques, crisis management, and interventions. He has worked with populations of various diversity and cultures. He also has an extensive background in law enforcement which has enabled him the ability to connect with clients in highly stressful occupations and the military. Larry places a high value on helping others, advocating for others, and considers himself to be self-motivating.
