Greg LaLiberte LPC-S

I’m Greg LaLiberte, Ed.S, NCC, LPC-S.

I am a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, who has worked in this field since 2006. Originally from Detroit, I  attended Murray State University for a Masters/Specialist of Education degree in Mental Health Counseling.

I hold a National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC) credential from the National Board of Certified Counselors; and State of Texas credentials as an LPC-Intern Supervisor, and in Dual Diagnosis/Co-occurring Disorders Treatment (mental health combined with substance abuse issues). I earned a State Certificate in “Therapeutic Community Building,” for Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Inpatient and Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient Programs.

Many professionals say I am a “Dual Diagnosis, Chemical Dependency, and Mental Health Specialist.” I am well-known for my progress working with difficult clients, who are often Dually Diagnosed Substance Abusers; having worked much of my career, either full or part-time with Drug Treatment Programs.

Logotherapy, Positive Psychology, and evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are my favorite counseling styles.

I have specialized training in Chi Gung Relaxation Techniques, and Transformative Prayer Ministry (TPM).

I enjoy assisting adults and adolescents during a time of crisis or confusion in their lives, be it either behavioral or substance abuse related.  I enjoy working with families, couples, and individuals.  I hold great empathy for adolescents and young adults struggling across obstacles in this fast-changing world. I am willing and able to work with any demographic of clients should an urgent need or request come my way.

While I have vast experience working with many different treatment modalities, I favor Logotherapy and Positive Psychology Counseling. Logotherapy asserts that the person who fulfills a meaningful purpose derives genuine satisfaction from it [which will lead to happiness]; positive psychology states that positive emotions and thinking (often inspired by meaning) will surely lead to happiness.

In addition, I employ multimedia elements in my Counseling such as “Cinema Therapy.”

I am a member of the Texas Counseling Association, and an Alumni of Delts (Delta Tau Delta), “Delts 95, Zeta Zeta”. I  enjoy 1980s’ New Wave & Punk Rock, Folk, Classic Rock, and Classic Country music. I participate in Chen Tai Chi classes and am a history buff, very interested in Orthodox Christianity and Comparative religion.  Fortunately, or unfortunately, I have a history of adopting stray pets. Coming from Detroit, I still maintain an interest in aggressive hockey teams and leagues.

    TESTIMONIALS

    CASSANDRA W.

Awesome clinicians working here. I was able to get my child's diagnosis so I can get him services. Early diagnosis is the the key. My son is autistic and has ADHD as well as other health issues. Kisd was able to get my son the services he needed based on his diagnosis he received at this office. My son is now 6 and has made a 200 percent improvement due to reviewing intervention early on.

Excellent! Both Dr. Connell and his staff are very friendly and very professional. I have seen him 3 times, for each of my children. I have and will continue to recommend him to my friends.

Dr. Connell was very easy to talk to. He listen to all of my concerns and addressed them. Him and his staff made me feel comfortable. I have been waiting for over a year for a appointment at scott and white. As soon as I called his office I received a appointment right away.

Dr. Connell's office has been professional and courteous. My husband and I like how well he listens to our concerns and how we explain ourselves about our daughter. We are hopeful on this new path with his help with our daughter.

    HEIDI P.

Doctor Connell and his staff went out of their way to assist my daughter and I with the process of obtaining a diagnosis (report) and submitting referrals for the care she needed. This was an acutely difficult period for both she and I, as it was her first diagnosis and testing experience. All around they were patient, kind, thorough and efficient. Highly Recommended!

    ANTHONY FRAN B.

Very friendly staff, enjoyable office area and the staff did a wonderful job helping us learn more. Dr. Connell is good and explains things in plain English and not medical terms. Felt very re-assured we will get the help we need for our family.

When you walk into the office you are welcomed right away. You don't have to wait.for someone. It doesn't have the feeling of most Dr.'s offices. It has a relaxing feel which is important for the children.
