Lisa Warren, Ph.D
Dr. Lisa Z. Warren is a clinical psychologist with a focus on assessment. With her husband of 33 years, she raised a family of four children, all of whom are grown. She is now a proud grandmother of two, with another on the way.
Before taking a position with Connell & Associates, Dr. Warren worked in a community mental health center in Illinois focusing on children and families and juvenile justice. In 2013 she came to Fort Hood to work with active duty service members.
In her free time, Dr. Warren enjoys reading, watching movies and television, and hunting for antique toys and parenting books at estate sales and garage sales.
That interest is due in part to her first career in the high-end toy industry. She says her mentor there valued toys that led children to use their imaginations and rarely stocked toys that used batteries. This experience piqued her interest in child development and psychology in general. “I like kids and learning what makes them tick and what they’re interested in,” she said.
After leaving her employment in the toy business, Dr. Warren completed an undergraduate degree at Texas Women’s University and pursued a master’s degree and doctorate degree in clinical psychology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her degree minors were in women’s studies and developmental psychology with a focus on law.
