Frequently Asked Questions
Dr. Connell has been in private practice since 1997, and all of our clinicians have at least 10 years of professional experience.
Our office is open 8-5, Monday through Friday. However, we typically schedule evaluations to begin between 9:00 and 12:30, as most people are able to perform their best on testing during the morning hours.
An assessment can mean many things, depending on the purpose of the assessment. Our typical assessment battery consists of IQ testing, academic achievement testing, and assessment of acute symptomatology (in other words, looking for symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health difficulties).
We offer diagnostic and treatment services for children and adults, including toddlers (age 18 months and above). Our diagnostic assessments are able to identify any mental-health disorder, including developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Conduct Disorder, and Personality Disorders.
We also conduct pre-employment psychological evaluations for numerous police departments, jails, and fire departments in central Texas. Other services include psychological evaluations for people wishing to undergo bariatric surgery or lap bands.
